Located in State College, Pa., Child Development and Family Council has been providing child care services for more than 25 years. It offers various programs for school-aged children that include a variety of organized activities. It also offers time and space to children to work on homework assignments. The center offers planned field trips and special interest activities. Its programs are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and are supervised by on-site teacher heads, and a staff of qualified recreational counselors. The center also provides snacks to students under the supervision of a nutrition coordinator. Child Development and Family Council also operated Discovery, a multiage child development center for children from 6 weeks, through the completion of kindergarten. The center has child-sized bathrooms, observation windows, outdoor play yards, full-sized kitchen, air-exchange system, heated floors, and air conditioning.
