History
Beech Springs Farm is a small family farm, nestled in a hidden valley in south central Pennsylvania. It is situated 10 miles southwest of historic Gettysburg, PA, 90 minutes north of Washington, DC and Baltimore and within 4 hours of New York, Pittsburgh or Philadelphia. Its owners, Bill and Jayne Shord, have owned the farm since 2002. Over the past 14 years they have concentrated their efforts on restoring the property making it economically sustainable. Great pains have been taken to restore the buildings and develop the grounds. The farm's produce gardens provide chemical-free, heirloom vegetables from May through October for a CSA program and other farm events. The farm is privately owned and open to the public through invitation only. The farm's restored 1867 barn and picturesque landscape provide the backdrop for farm-to-table dinners, community fundraisers, weddings and other special events.
