Bedford-Somerset Mental Health provides comprehensive mental health services to residents of the greater Somerset, Pa. area. The agency works with children and adolescents and provides family services to individuals dealing with mental illness and developmental delays or disabilities. The agency provides a crisis intervention program that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to address emergencies. These services are available to adults, children and families who experience an acute problem of disturbed mood, thought, behavior or relationship. Bedford-Somerset also provides a variety of community based housing alternatives and supportive services for individuals with mental retardation. It was founded in 1968 and its main office is located in Somerset. It also operates a branch office in Bedford, Pa.
