Cedars Woodworking & Renovations
In 1980 this business began under my name Steven E. Schmucker Painting. The business began as a means to pay for my college education. Through out the college years I employed many college friends. From the beginning the business focus has been one of providing a consistent high quality product, executed in a very professional and timely manner. It has also been a practice of ours to provide to the customer a little more than they expected. This practice over the years has produced a real trust and loyalty among our customers. This has proved to be the very life-blood of the business, as it has grown over the years solely by the word-of-mouth referrals of our satisfied customers. In 1995 I committed to following a greater passion of mine, woodworking. I began to purchase commercial woodworking equipment and setup a larger shop in the basement of my house. I slowly put the word out to my customer base that I was in the business of making furniture: built-in units, hanging moldings and other types of finer woodworking. The projects began rolling in and were growing in size and scope. In 2000, I eliminated exterior painting from the business and introduced our current name, Cedars Woodworking & Interior Painting There was a need to become a company clearly defined through its name. The basement quarters were becoming more and more challenging. By February 2001, the business relocated to 641 South Prince Street, PA 17603 Lancaster This move provided the business 2000 square feet of shop space, office space and storage to accommodate the larger and more frequent woodworking projects. Now, as of May of 2006, we have relocated to an even bigger location at 630 West Fulton Street, PA 17603 Lancaster The change of focus in 1995 has developed a very interesting niche for the business. We will custom design, build and install your woodworking desires and we are able to redecorate the entire room as well, all while only dealing with one contractor. Most woodworkers do not want anything to do with the finishing of their products. We love to see our projects to their ultimate conclusion. Now we are introducing this web site to provide a photo gallery of the woodworking projects that have been done to perhaps inspire your creativity and showcase our skills.
