American Rescue Workers, founded in 1884, is a national religious and charitable movement that is organized and operated on a quasi-military pattern. It is a social service agency and is a branch of Christian Church. Its members include several officers, soldiers, adherents, associates, members of varied activity groups and volunteers. The organization offers the Paul E. Martin Scholarship program for youths. It also provides a publication, The Rescue Herald, which prints testimonies and articles related to religion and spiritualism. The publication also includes complementary materials that are designed to provide entertainment and instruction to its readers. Additionally, American Rescue Workers holds daily prayer meetings for its members.
