The Mary D. Hume was a historic steamer built in 1881 at Gold Beach, Oregon by R. D. Hume, a prominent pioneer and businessman in the area. Originally used for hauling goods between Oregon and San Francisco, the vessel later served as a whaler in Alaska, a service vessel in the Alaskan cannery trade, and eventually as a tugboat.
Retired in 1977, the Mary D. Hume sank in the Rogue River in 1985 and remains as a derelict vessel on the shoreline. Despite efforts to preserve her as a museum ship, the Hume's wreck can still be seen in Gold Beach and holds significance as a listed National Historic Place.
