The creative force behind The Jewel, is owner/designer Jan Daggett. With over 40 years experience in the gem, jewelry & mineral trade, her background is as diverse as her gallery. In the 1970's her early designs were featured on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. By the 1980's she was operating her own mine in Montana, selling mineral collections to the Smithsonian and other museums. In 1991 she sold the mine for seed money to open The Jewel in Sisters OR. As a natural artist, gem cutter and precious metal sculptor, Jan is renowned for her innovative designs and creative use of fine gems & materials. The gallery features a unique blend of contemporary jewelry and spectacular minerals, fossils & specimens.
