History
Six Rivers Dispute Resolution Center's founders believed that the best way to resolve disputes is to empower the people to make better decisions. We were created to strengthen individual's negotiation skills. We continue to build more efficient methods for people and communities to resolve conflicts. Originally launched in 2002 as a small program within a governmental entity, Six Rivers established itself as a stand alone 501c3 in 2014. Contact us if you have an idea for collaboration, or a conflict that could use strategizing.
Specialties
Six Rivers Dispute Resolution Center is a non-profit mediation service in the Mid-Columbia region. Main services include mediation, facilitation, conflict coaching, supervised visitations, and customized trainings. We also operate numerous programs for local, regional and state governments. We receive funding from local, state and federal organizations in order to provide low cost conflict resolution and education services. Our mediators and facilitators are highly-trained volunteers dedicated to helping people solve problems and resolve conflict. We strive to create positive conversations and a safe environment for settling disputes, as well as education and training opportunities. Six Rivers Dispute Resolution Center is guided by its mission to establish forums where each party is heard; create environments where each party can communicate; develop processes that seek resolution through dialogue; and teach citizenship by building these processes into a method of mediating disputes.
