The Siskiyou Upland Trails Association (SUTA) is a volunteer organization dedicated to creating a community trail system across the Siskiyou upland ridges, connecting the existing trail systems of Ashland and Jacksonville in Southern Oregon. Their mission is to provide a permanent recreational resource for the local community while preserving the natural resources of the region and attracting visitors to the area.
Currently, SUTA manages the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail, an historic and state-scenic trail, as well as Phase I of the Jack-Ash Trail. These trails, open to equestrians, hikers, runners, and bicyclists, offer scenic landscapes and breathtaking views. SUTA relies on donations and volunteer support to develop and maintain the trail system, and they are actively working on Phase II of the Jack-Ash Trail, aiming to raise $24,000 for construction.
