History
OMM was founded as a museum by a small group of nautical enthusiasts and educators. They did a wonderful job of collecting artifacts and acquired the steam sternwheel tug, the PORTLAND in 1990, which has been fully restored. The PORTLAND is a functional boat - a delight to visit. All decks have are open for (paid) tours. Check our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/oregonmaritimemuseum for info on children's programs, special events, and fun photo updates. Our library is an excellent research facility, and you can contact us (info elsewhere on this site) for inquiries.
