History

The Aurora Colony Historical Society was established in 1963 and the Museum in 1966, to promote interactive lifelong learning by inspiring curiosity about, and the preservation of, the heritage of the Aurora Colony (1856-1883).

Specialties

Our volunteers and staff are experts in their field of knowledge of the Aurora Colony. Personal tours of the Museum and village are available on request, in advance of your visit.

This is a great museum, they offer a self guided walking tour of the town telling you all the history. We took the walk on a nice warm afternoon which took approximately one hour. Very much worth...
