History
I had a special birth experience. I felt truly transformed. I had incredible support from wise women. I couldn't have done it without their attention to my well being. After my birth, I wanted to be a part of this experience for other women. I was thinking midwife. I couldn't bear the idea of being responsible for babies. Not in my DNA. Then the doula idea came. I am very thankful women give this gift to others. This wasn't where I was called. My photography? Not wanting to do commercial I was left in a bit of a tailspin. What do I do? I shot landscapes in school. Didn't seem like walking in the woods by myself was where I wanted to be. Birth. Yes. Showing women the mystery of themselves and their bodies. I photographed my pregnant friends in my back yard. They rose up. They moved from putting up with this time of body flux, to shinning. I felt inspired. I felt valuable. I wanted more. I want to be part of something bigger than myself.
Specialties
I would love it if women would come to the studio and feel elegant during pregnancy and are then able to remember that feeling for a lifetime. Birth photography gives a objective view of a momentous event. Newborns, enough said.
