History
JD's Shoe Repair is owned and operated by Julie Derrick, a cobbler who moved to Portland from rural Idaho in 1989. She entered the trade in 2006, and has gained her skills on the job, under the instruction and long-term mentoring of experienced cobblers. JD's Shoe Repair started out on the corner of North Vancouver Avenue and North Fremont Street in Portland, joining a community hub of locally owned small businesses operating out of a former gas station. As business grew and the racks overflowed with projects and repairs, JD's moved to the current space on North Alberta in 2011, where hopefully we can continue to offer our full range of repairs and services well into the future of this rapidly changing neighborhood and city.
