As Oklahoma s largest locally owned power supply system, Western Farmers Electric Cooperative serves more than two-thirds of the state. It generates and transmits electric service for 19 member-owner cooperatives in rural portions of Oklahoma, as well as Altus Air Force Base and other large power users. The cooperative s three generation plants located in Mooreland, Anadarko and Hugo are collectively capable of producing more than 1.4 million kilowatts of power. Western Farmers Electric Cooperative was established in 1941 and has headquarters in Anadarko. It is affiliated with the Alliance for Cooperative Energy Services Power Marketing, Kiowa Power Partners and Blue Canyon Wind Power.
