History
The Depot organization was born in 2003 out of a request from the City of Norman to find a nonprofit organization which could make its home in the beautifully restored Norman Santa Fe Depot. The Santa Fe Depot is one of the City of Norman's original buildings, as the city was founded when the Atchison/Santa Fe Railroad planned a stop and platted our Downtown Main Street. In response to the City's need, a group came together, incorporated, applied for nonprofit status and designed the basic programs which are the core of the organization today. Our mission to create and present excellent and innovative fine arts programs for the enrichment and education of our community and we enjoy being stewards of this beautiful building on the National Register of History Places.
