The Oklahoma County Clerk's Office serves as the central filing office for all financing statements for the State of Oklahoma. It serves the Board of County Commissioners and excise, equalization and tax roll correction boards of Oklahoma County, Okla. The office registers and preserves legal documents and instruments, including plat maps, deeds, mortgages, oil and gas leases, tax liens and military discharge papers filed by private citizens and public officials. The Oklahoma County Clerk's Office also oversees uniform commercial code filings that include chattel mortgages, conditional sales, trust receipts, factors liens and assignments of accounts receivable. It is engaged in scanning, indexing and backup documentation of official documents and records. The office provides support to the annual budget process and prepares and distributes budget documents.
