The Oil & Gas Conservation Division, a part of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission operates a field operations department that offers investigation, mediation and educational services to protect and preserve the natural resources of the State of Oklahoma. It also operates a pollution abatement department for the protection of water and soil resources by regulating various waste management and remediation practices for the domestic oil and gas industry. In addition, the division collects, verifies, maintains and disseminates information on state's natural resources. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission regulates oil and gas drilling, as well as utilities and telephone companies. It has a staff of more than 550 individuals.
