The National Johnson-O'Malley Association (NJOMA) is a nonprofit educational organization based in Tulsa, OK. They represent and advocate for all eligible Indian students, ages 3 to grade 12, who are not attending or served by Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) schools. NJOMA prioritizes the academic, social, physical, spiritual, and mental well-being of Johnson-O'Malley (JOM) students, recognizing that they will be future tribal leaders and must be given maximum opportunities for positive change.
NJOMA maintains formal liaisons with Tribal, State, and Federal governmental agencies, as well as other educational organizations, such as the National Congress of American Indians and the National Indian Education Association. They assist with annual reports to the US Congress, documenting JOM results, accomplishments, and achievements to support continued annual funding. The Board of Directors of NJOMA is available to travel, confer, and collaborate with Congressional representatives in Washington, D.C., to establish a shared vision for future Johnson-O'Malley supplemental educational programs.
