Mack Alford Correctional Center is a medium-security detention facility that was established in 1973. The center has more than 260 inmates and is a part of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. The department manages over 8,800 offenders in its several facilities, as well as offers substance abuse treatment and education programs. Its inmates also participate in the Thinking For a Change Program and completes GED certifications. Oklahoma Department of Corrections inmates stay to complete their sentence terms for several offences in the areas of murder, sexual assault, robbery and nonviolent crimes. Additionally, the department collects probation, parole and employment fees.
