Citizen Potawatomi Nation exercises governmental jurisdiction in an area bounded by the North Canadian River, the South Canadian River, the Pottawatomie-Seminole County boundary, and the Indian Meridian. Its governmental structure includes executive, legislative, and judicial functions, and its judiciary includes district and supreme courts. It offers a wide variety of services to its members and other Native Americans, including housing authority, which operates with funding from Housing and Urban Development to provide members with affordable housing and rental units, and a health clinic and pharmacy that provides prescription drugs to eligible Native Americans in the service area and to tribal elders throughout the United States. Citizen Potawatomi Nation also offers a child care development center, as well as women, infants, and children program that provides nutrition information and food purchase assistance to clients in the Shawnee area and in Oklahoma City. Citizen Potawatomi Nation is headquartered in Shawnee, Okla.
