The Office of Auditor of State, administered by the state government of Ohio, operates through administration and audit divisions. With a staff of more than 800 professionals, the office in responsible for over 6,500 entities, including cities, counties, villages, townships, schools and public libraries, as well as all state universities, agencies, boards and commissions. The Office of Auditor of State s Uniform Accounting Network is a user-friendly accounting software for supporting the accounting and financial management activities of local governments statewide. The office manages a special investigations unit that is involved in the collection and decision making processes of complaints concerning public fund embezzlement and fraud.
