The Solon Board of Education is a consultative body of Solon City Schools with responsibilities for making policies in the areas of planning, policy development, financing, public relations and evaluation. Solon City Schools operates several elementary, middle and high schools that provide an academic education to more than 5,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools offer educational programs in music, language arts, math, English, science, social studies, physical education and computer technology. In addition, Solon City Schools provides programs that focus on the development of reading, language arts and math skills in lower grades. Its schools operate libraries that provide a range of books and instructional materials. Solon City Schools offers scholarships and health screening and meal services. It supports several student clubs and organizations that host various events and functions. Solon City Schools is located in Cleveland.
