The Society for Handicapped Citizens, also known as SHC, provides a range of services to individuals with disabilities. Founded in 1953, the agency owns and operates more than five Medicaid-funded homes for adults with developmental disabilities. It owns and maintains the Camp Paradise, which hosts summer camping programs for handicapped citizens. The Society for Handicapped Citizens also offers an array of medical and adaptive equipment, including hospital beds, walkers and crutches on loan. Its resource center is equipped with a variety of educational and switch-adapted toys. The agency additionally features a family mentor program that provides a range of health care services. The Society for Handicapped Citizens is located in Seville, Ohio.
