The beginnings of the agency date back to 1938 when J.M. Badertscher, then principal of Sebring McKinley High School, purchased a small insurance agency. The J.M. Badertscher Insurance Agency was joined by Gail W. Williams, brother-in-law to Mr. Badertscher, in 1945. Three years later, Mr. Badertscher left to return to administration at the high school. Later in 1948, Earnest L. Case joined Mr. Williams to form Williams and Case Insurance Agency. They eventually incorporated. In 1969, the agency moved to a more central location in Sebring. With each year came premium volume growth and more business. Many smaller area agencies were bought by the expanding corporation. Company co-founder E.L. Case retired in 1979. In 1982, G.W. Williams retired and his duties as president were taken by Bill E. Williams. In 1984, computers were first purchased for bookkeeping and marketing. Later in 1989 agency moved once again to its present location at 60 S. 15th Street. The next year, by buying another area insurance agency, Williams and Case became one of the area's largest. James R. Williams joined summer of 2000 making the agency span three generations. The corporation continues to look for new opportunities to expand through purchasing other area agencies. Bill E. Williams is the son of co-founder Gail W Williams and joined in 1971 after graduating from Mount Union College. He is the President and a licensed agent, specializing in commercial lines. James R. Williams is the grandson of co-founder Gail W Williams and joined in 2000 before graduating from Mount Union College. He is the Vice President and a licensed agent, specializing in commercial lines. Grace E. Williams joined in 1988. She is the Office Manager and a licensed agent, specializing in personal lines. Nancy L. Filp joined in 1989. She is the Bookkeeper and a licensed agent, specializing in personal lines and commercial bonds. Laura A. Muhleman joined in 1997. She is the Claims Manager and a licensed agent, specializing in personal lines.
