The Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA) is a non-profit professional association that represents Ohio's 8,228 licensed osteopathic physicians (DOs). With a mission to promote Ohio's public health and advance the distinctive philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine, the OOA serves as the professional home for Ohio DOs. As the only physician organization exclusively dedicated to representing osteopathic physicians in Ohio, the OOA advocates for its members at the Statehouse on issues such as scope of practice, insurance, reimbursements, and providing care for the underserved.
The OOA is committed to maintaining and elevating the standards for medical education and osteopathic-focused postgraduate training programs in Ohio. Through their premier continuing medical education program, the Ohio Osteopathic Symposium, the OOA promotes lifelong learning for DOs practicing in Ohio. Additionally, the OOA actively engages in advocacy efforts to promote public health and cooperates with public health agencies. The Ohio Osteopathic Foundation, supported by donations, provides scholarships and CME programming to support the principles of osteopathic medicine.
