Metro Regional Transit Authority, also known as Metro RTA, maintains a fleet of more than 180 active passenger revenue vehicles. It receives funding from federal and state government sources and locally through sales tax. The authority utilizes capital funds to buy equipment and build facilities. Metro Regional Transit Authority uses its operating funds to maintain current equipment, as well as assist in daily operations. It is governed by a 12-member board of trustees and has a staff of over 310 employees. The authority operates through human resources, training, maintenance and line service departments. Metro Regional Transit Authority is located in Akron, Ohio.
