With one of its locations in Toledo, Ohio, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio works to prepare girls for the future. The organization serves more than 55,000 girls in western Ohio and southeast Indiana. It focuses on the character building and skill development of girls. The organization operates programs to build confidence and courage in girls. Girl Scouts of Western Ohio also maintains locations in Cincinnati, Lima and Dayton, Ohio. It supports the needs of schools, libraries and after-school facilities. The organization helps girls and adults to develop healthy lifestyles, fitness regimens and diets. In addition, it accepts donations from individuals and institutions. In 2008, Girl Scout Councils of Great Rivers, Buckeye Trails, Appleseed Ridge and Maumee Valley merged to become Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
