The George and Margaret McLane Foundation is a 501 c 3 charitable foundation established in 2011 by the estate of Wilhelmina McLane, dedicated to building community and improving people's lives. They support organizations that prepare children for success in school and college readiness, enrich people's lives through creative arts and the humanities, protect and advance the lives of people in vulnerable populations, and promote the welfare of animals through no-kill shelters, spay/neuter programs, and cruelty prevention.
With a mission to make a positive impact, the McLane Foundation annually awards scholarships to deserving graduates of Franklin High School, in accordance with the wishes of Wilhelmina McLane. Led by Trustee Jim Wellinghoff and Executive Director Christopher M. Wheeler, the foundation is guided by an advisory board and is committed to supporting organizations that strive to make a difference in education, arts, social welfare, and animal welfare.
