Wapakoneta Fire-EMS, formerly known as the Deluge Fire Company and later as the Wapakoneta Fire Department, has been serving the community since 1865. With a rich history dating back to the purchase of fire equipment in the 19th century, the department now operates as a single station with 24-hour staffing, providing a range of emergency services including fire prevention, EMS, and specialized rescue operations.
Comprised of 16 career firefighter EMTs and additional auxiliary staff, Wapakoneta Fire-EMS boasts a fleet of modern firefighting and rescue vehicles, alongside a historic 1943 Seagrave pumper. Proud of its tradition and heritage, the department not only serves the City of Wapakoneta but also extends its protection to Duchoquet Township, covering a total of 16 square miles with dedicated and skilled personnel.
