The Summit County Department of Environmental Services (DOES) operates and maintains wastewater collection, transportation and treatment systems for the county in Ohio. It works on various unincorporated and incorporated areas that comprise a district, known as the Summit County Metropolitan Sewer District. The Summit County Department of Environmental Services operates through administration and sewer divisions. Its sewer division is responsible for more than 15 wastewater treatment facilities, over 100 wastewater-pumping stations and approximately 800 miles of sanitary sewers that transport wastewater. The department prepares sewer bills and collects user fees and charges for deposit into the county treasury. In addition, the Summit County Department of Environmental Services administers a rehabilitation program.
