Department of Family Medicine is a primary care specialty unit operated by the University of Cincinnati. The department offers a required third-year clerkship for medical students in all four years of training. The clerkship includes training in evidence-based medicine, information technology, health disparities, cultural competence, and the care of low-income elderly patients. In addition to the residency program, it offers a combined family medicine and psychiatry program and a family medicine and international health track. The department also focuses on research that is directly relevant to the practice of family medicine. It sponsors a broad range of community service programs that provide free health care to patients in various areas. Department of Family Medicine is located in Cincinnati.
