Founded in 1825, Defiance County has always been a major transportation area. It boasts over 1,000 miles of paved county, city, village, township and state roads. It offers a variety of cultural opportunities from its shopping and strip malls to the many quaint shops. The Defiance County Board of Commissioners is seeking photographs and memorabilia pertaining to the former county jail and sheriff s residence, currently being renovated. The firm consists of three incorporated villages, Hicksville, Ney and Sherwood, and the City of Defiance.
