Northeast Technical Services Co., Inc ( Netsco ) was formed in 1984 to provide engineering, design and consulting services. The specific goal was to use the unique talents and experience of our personnel in developing methods and systems that a ship owner or operator could incorporate to make his vessels, crew, and loading/unloading terminals work more efficiently and cost effectively. In addition, Netsco provides complete ship, tug, and barge designs of all types ; from concept through actual construction and warranty support, including floating and shore side electrical power generating plant designs. Now the largest naval architecture and marine engineering firm in the Great Lakes region Netsco was founded in 1984 as Northeast Technical Supply Company as a broker for specialty marine equipment. When marine engineering services, re-powerings and equipment design were added in 1986, the company became Northeast Technical Services Company which later evolved into Netsco. As the company expanded into building its naval architecture capabilities in 1995, it also assumed its first full project management assignment for the 17, 000 ST self-unloading cement ATB unit GL Ostrander and the barge Integrity. In 1991, Netsco moved into 5, 500 square feet of office and shop space in Cleveland, Ohio ( USA ) from where we support customers throughout the Great Lakes region and around the world.
