Contemporary Dance Theater, founded in 1972 by Jefferson James in Cincinnati, Ohio, merged with MamLuft Co. Dance in 2021 to become Mutual Dance Theatre and Arts Centers. They connect the community with diverse and socially relevant dance and performance art, presenting work that is evocative, entertaining, and enlarges the sense of community. With a mission to integrate contemporary dance and performance art into life, they provide production assistance, deliver educational community outreach, and champion different techniques, artistic views, and styles.
Operating out of the historic College Hill Town Hall, Mutual Dance Theatre and Arts Centers offers a variety of educational and arts activities, including revamped adult classes and relocated children's classes. As a proud member of the National Performance Network and the Greater Cincinnati Dance Alliance, they continue to play a vital role in the community by supporting local artists and presenting national and international dance artists. Their space serves as a hub for dance activity, hosting classes, workshops, performances, meetings, parties, and social events.
