Back to Basics Youth Education Center is a non-profit organization based in Dayton, OH, dedicated to providing computer education and coding instruction to middle and high school students. Their mission is to empower and improve the lives of inner-city youth by teaching cooperation, team-building skills, and independence through computer education. With a focus on personal growth and self-confidence, the center aims to guide students in researching computer occupations, making employer connections, and developing positive ideas and beliefs about computer careers.
Founded in 2015 by Mr. Lawrence Lindsey, a retired educator and military veteran, Back to Basics Youth Education Center has been serving students in and around Dayton, including those from Dayton Public Schools and Montgomery County. The center's short-range schedule includes recruiting and interviewing students, conducting fundraisers, and opening the center in 2018. All funds are currently out of pocket, and donations are always welcome to support their mission of providing opportunities for success in learning and transforming values about the community.
