Community Resource Services is a privately run, non-profit agency that assists families and individuals in need in Avon and Avon Lake. CRS provides emergency aid, information, referrals and advocacy, transportation for senior citizens as well as help and support for families in need. The agency, working under the motto, "People Helping People," relies heavily on donations and the efforts of volunteers. The organization has become a mainstay in the community as a resource for those in need. CRS just expanded its offices to include more storage for items to be donated. Its signature fundraising event is the annual charity ball, held each January. Other events, including the Buckeye Bash are held throughout the year. CRS represents the Salvation Army in Avon and Avon Lake. To locate CRS' offices go behind the building that house the Post Office and Pizza Cutter. Look for the red, white and blue heart.
