The Acorn Child Care Center is part of the Avon Oaks skilled-care nursing facility, located on French Creek Road. The Acorn Child Care Center started in 1985 and was one of the first child care centers in Ohio to offer an intergenerational program. Intergenerational programs allow children to encounter people of all ages and participate in activities with them. Hot lunch and snacks are provided daily.

Le Chaperon Rouge is located in Avon off of Chester Road, conveniently situated near I-90. It is a private day care and elementary school that also features before- and after-school care programs and summer camps. Reading, writing, math, social studies and French are part of the curriculum. Extra activities such as karate, dance, tennis and gymnastics are offered for an additional fee.

Good Kids Childcare

Good Kids Childcare is located inside Christ Lutheran Church, but is separately owned and operated and is not affiliated with the church. The environment is a combination of a home-like atmosphere in a licensed child care setting. It was started by two mothers who faced the modern conflict of working full time and spending more time with their families. Preschool and before- and after-school care is provided for children 18 months through 12 years old. Summer camp programs are available, with plenty of field trips, arts and crafts, cooking activities and special visitors.
