HistoryIn March of 2015 a small group of people met in a private home in Blairsville, GA to discuss the need for a spiritual group centered around Unity Principles. All of those present had previously attended various Unity Churches across the United States. The entire group was deeply committed to the 5 Unity Principles and felt a strong need to live their spiritual purpose and potential with Unity as their center. As a result of that meeting the Spiritual Living Group was formed. The first meeting of this study group was held April 14, 2015. Members of the Spiritual Living Group soon began to express their desire to take the next step. They wanted a worship service to be held on Sundays, they wanted a youth and family ministry program, they wanted a music ministry and they saw the importance of having a Unity Minister to lead the group. In response to these desires an application to become a new Unity church was submitted. On September 30, 2015 our new church; Unity of Blairsville was aSpecialtiesUnity teaches that each person is a unique expression of God created with sacred worth. Living from that awareness transforms our lives and the world. Unity emphasizes the creative power of thought in our life experience. We refer to this as the Law of Mind Action. When we take personal responsibility to choose life-affirming thoughts, words and actions, we experience a more fulfilling and abundant life. Unity emphasizes the importance of applying spiritual principles in our daily lives. Unity teachings continue to evolve as we identify, embrace and apply spiritual insights and the spiritual implications of new discoveries.
