Minot State University, founded in 1913, offers a range of educational and extracurricular programs to students. The university is a Carnegie Master s I institution and is one of the largest institutions of higher education institution in North Dakota. The colleges offer academic offerings, such as arts and sciences, business, and education and health sciences. More than 10 master s degrees are offered in areas, including communication disorders, management, education and mathematics. The colleges also offer a mix of liberal arts and professional programs offering more than 60 majors at the undergraduate level. The university additionally offers outdoor activities, such as hiking, boating, fishing and camping. The arts include theatre companies, art galleries, choral and instrumental groups, symphony orchestra and an opera company. The university is located in Minot, N.D.
