History
Yarbrough Transfer Company was founded in 1927 in Winston-Salem, NC by R.L. Yarbrough, operating as a moving and storage company. John Yarbrough took over the business in 1946 and expanded on the company's moving and storage roots by getting into the heavy haul and rigging business. In the early 1960s, John owned both the first hydraulic crane and the first removable gooseneck trailer in the state of North Carolina. In the early 1970s, Jim Yarbrough, the third generation in the family business, formed and operated Road Builders Transport, which eventually merged with Yarbrough Transfer Company to become the entity which survives today. In 2007, David Yarbrough joined the company to become the fourth consecutive generation of the family in the business. Over those four generations, Yarbrough Transfer Company has transformed into one of the most well-known and dependable heavy haul carriers in the Southeast, with a reputation for safety, service, and professionalism.
