The University of North Carolina Press, also known as UNC Press, is a publisher of books for national and international customers. It publishes more than 4,000 titles. Founded in 1922, the press offers books from various authors, writers and critics, such as John Hope Franklin, Edmund Morgan, Jacquelyn Dowd Hall, Nell Irvin Painter, Elizabeth Lawrence, Cleanth Brooks and Paul Green. UNC Press is a member of the Green Press Initiative, which is a nonprofit program that receives financial support from the Town Creek Foundation, Merck Family Fund and Wallace Global Fund. It has published a list of books, including That Infernal Little Cuban Republic, Creole Subjects in the Colonial Americas, and The Complete Guide to Soccer Fitness and Injury Prevention.
