Internal medicine practitioners
Cecilie Macosko, MD
I chose medicine because I love science, and I love helping people. Family medicine combines these two passions of mine in a unique way. I chose family medicine specifically because I love the privilege of caring for people of all ages, through all phases of their lives. \n One of my great strengths as a provider is that I truly care about my patients and greatly value the relationships we build. Even after all these years in medicine, I still consider it a privilege to do what I do. \n I have great empathy for patients who feel anxious about coming to the doctor - or who actively dread it - and so I work hard to make clinic visits as pleasant and as welcoming as possible. I strive to help every patient feel cared for and listened to in our clinic. \n My husband and I have five children who keep me very busy and bring me great joy. Our family enjoys traveling, and we have visited all 50 states together. I am originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, and then moved to California, before going to Princeton University for college. I came to North Carolina for medical school and have made this home since then. My husband and I are active in our church and are active volunteers with World Relief and Meals on Wheels. I played tennis and rowed crew in college, and I enjoy staying active by running and exercising, when I am not in clinic.
