History
I decided to go into private practice because I met an overwhelming amount of women, African American women especially, that were depressed, overwhelmed, frustrated and experiencing relational issue. Due to the stigma surrounding counseling I wanted to be someone that offered a service that was needed and I was someone women (not just African American women) could identify with. I felt I could be an effective change agent in the community.
