PNC Arena is a stadium located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The stadium opened as Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena on October 29, 1999 with the construction taking just under two years at a cost of just over $158 million, $218 million in present day dollars. Currently, the PNC Arena houses the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Carolina Hurricanes are one time Stanley Cup Champions and are members of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference within the NHL. They are known by their team colors consisting of black, red and white. The current owner of the Carolina Hurricanes is Peter Karmanos.
The stadium currently holds 18,680 fans for hockey games. There are 66 luxury suites and over 2,000 seats at the club level. Currently, it was the largest stadium in the NHL. PNC Arena is also a great venue for concerts and has hosted such musicians as Eric Clapton, Billy Joel and Lady Gaga.
