The North Carolina Department of Correction has been serving in the state, since 1870. Based in Raleigh, the department carries out various victim services, including registration, victim advocacy and notification. Additionally, it provides general information in relation to prisons, probation guides, parole and post-release manuals as well as various victim services. Apart from these, the North Carolina Department of Correction provides publications, such as NC Crime Victims Handbook, Sexual Assault Handbook and Citizen's Guide to Structured Sentencing.
