History
The building was built in the late 1930's by my grandfather,at that time it was a honky tonk and a very rough one I understand. The county became dry and my grandfather started a country store, after his death my father operated it until 1986. There was not any bathrooms or running water until we remodeled in 2004. As a child we always had friends to come with their parents to the store to talk and the men would play cards and the women would go to the house and talk to my mama and the kids played outside. That old store had everything you needed, full line of groceries, sewing notions, hog feed, over the counter meds, hosiery, hardware, farm equipment, molasses in a barrel, full service gas and 3 shopping carts.Daddy's gas pumps only went to 99.9 cents and he always said if it went over a dollar he was going to quite selling gas and he did just that.It was a great place to grow up in and to me it is still where I love to be.
