Located in Spencer, N.C., North Rowan Middle School was established in the early 1970s when two schools, North Rowan Grammar and North Rowan Junior High, were merged. The school serves students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, social studies, mathematics, art, science, and health and physical education. In addition, the school provides advanced classes and a range of special elective courses, such as foreign languages, forensics, chess, drama and math counts. North Rowan Middle School is a part of Rowan-Salisbury School System, which also operates several other elementary, middle and high schools. The school district has cafeterias in all of its schools to serve lunch and breakfast to students.
