HistoryThe North Carolina Music Hall Of Fame, INC. was incorporated in the State of North Carolina on May 26, 1994. The primary purpose of the Corporation is to recognize, promote and commemorate the musical heritage of the State of North Carolina. From 2002 until 2008 the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame was inactive because the organization was unable to secure a facility for a museum to house the memorabilia of the initial nine inductees. In 2008, two music executives, Mike Curb with the assistance of Eddie Ray, a NC native, agreed to provide the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame a building in Kannapolis, NC for their museum, rent free for a period of five years. The principle office of the Organization was moved from Thomasville, NC to Kannapolis, NC. The newly activated North Carolina Music Hall of Fame was officially opened on June, 1, 2009.
