I was drawn to medicine because of my desire to serve others. \n I was drawn to pediatrics because of the opportunity it affords to form long-lasting relationships with parents and families. I strongly believe in listening and forming trusting partnerships with parents so that we can work together to help their children reach their highest potential. For both parents and children, I hope to be a trusted source of information, encouragement, reassurance and - when the need arises - treatment. \n I was honored to receive the University of Virginia's Brodie Resident Clinician Award. The award recognizes a resident physician who demonstrates clinical excellence in primary care and serves as a model for peers and medical students by taking personal responsibility for patients' needs. \n My wife and I met when we were high school students in Chicago. We married a few years later and have since lived all over the country - and had two children - as I completed medical training. \n My passions include my family, Ben & Jerry's ice cream and Chicago deep-dish pizza. In addition, I love running, playing pick-up basketball and cooking. I am a loyal and passionate fan of my Chicago-based sports teams, my Virginia Cavaliers and my Brigham Young University Cougars.
