The historical museum for the County, housed in the 1907 neo-classical courthouse, with exhibits charting Rockingham County's history from pre-historic and native american, to slavery, industry and transport, law and order, military history, Civil Rights and much more. We also offer tours and provide access to a wealth of historical and genealogical materials in our archival vaults for the public. We operate the restored 1816 Wright Tavern building opposite the museum and its outbuildings, giving a rare insight into the early life of the United States. Additionally we manage the historic High Rock Ford Park and trail south of Reidsville which offers kayak and canoe access to the River Haw.
